thank god someone ACTUALLY knows what theyre talking about when they say stuff about what the bible says about being gay.

The other day my mom was wondering where in the bible gay marriage is said to be bad and I called her stupid because she was the one who raised me right and now wants me to go against it, now that she’s becoming a “Christian.”

Actually, I think you need to take the whole Bible into account for this. Because Leviticus is not the only part of the Bible that talks about homosexual relations being against God’s plan. Genesis 2 talks about God making woman to be a suitable helper for man. He didn’t make another man. He made a woman “and they will become one flesh” (Gen. 2:24). Creation and God’s plan-not a property law this time. Furthermore, we are no longer under the Law. Because of Jesus’ death on the cross we are under a Law of Grace. This is different because we do not heartless keep rules in order to get to Heaven. Instead we become followers of Christ and try to grow in our likeness to Him. 1 Corinthians 6:9 says, “Or do you not know that wrongdoers will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor men who have sex with men nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. And that is what some of you were. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.”

You can see the grace in that last part. Kudos for knowing a lot about ancient Hebrew culture. But I’d encourage you to read through the whole Bible and keep it all in context, not just Leviticus…random facebook and tumblr people I will never meet…
